Whether you're doing Movember to change the world or just to hang out, we want you to celebrate the good times, have the big conversations, and talk about why you Mo.

Know why you Mo
2 MIN READ
In Movember, the moustache is our banner – the hairy ribbon that unites Mo Bros around the world for 30 days. Your Mo is bound to attract attention, and for good reason. It’s a bold statement and a big opportunity. When somebody asks you, “so what’s with the face furniture?” that’s your chance to make a difference. And even if you’re not growing a Mo (if you’re a Mo Sista or taking the MOVE challenge) your goal remains the same: start a conversation. So what will you say?

Start with the basics

You might be doing Movember because you’ve experienced a significant health issue, or because you know someone who has. Maybe you’re growing or moving to support your friends, or because it seemed like a fun time and a good cause.

Whatever your reason, talking about those motivations is the first step to helping men live happier, healthier and longer lives.

Drop some knowledge

The state of men’s health is in crisis, but we’re working to change that. The Movember Foundation funds innovative programs tackling prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health and physical inactivity – that’s a pretty good reason to get involved.

It helps to have a few key facts in your arsenal. For example, did you know that prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men worldwide, and rates of testicular cancer diagnosis have doubled over the past 50 years? Or that 510,000 men die from suicide each year? How about that 1 in 4 adults are not active enough, and moving on a regular basis can reduce your risk of heart disease, diabetes, and cancer by up to 50%?

Write down your motivation

You know why you’re doing Movember but nobody else does, unless you get out there and tell them. Writing down your motivation is a great way to build confidence ahead of the real deal.

So what makes your Mo grow? Tell us in the comments.
