My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Prostate cancer
Mental health and suicide prevention

The Movember Foundation is the only global charity focused solely on men's health, so this Movember I'm getting on board. I'm raising funds to tackle some of the biggest health issues faced by men: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and poor mental health. Help me stop men dying too young.

I do this to honour my father who is a cancer survivor. And in this year of turmoil and pandemic mental health awareness is a priority.

It is the last day! You can bet I am setting my alarm for Midnight to get rid of this squished caterpillar. To all of you who have donated. Thank you very much. To all who are hesitating ... what is the hold up? Donate Now! If not to me to someone else.

So it is the last week of Movember. Time for that push. I learned this week how much health can weigh on your mind. Finally had my appointment with the haematologist over my Blood Clot results. I happy to report that I am clear. No more Clots. And I can go back to most of my activities. Just avoid contact sports. I did not realize how heavily it was actually weighing on me. Yes w I wa chomping at the bit to do something. But I was pretty much giddy when they told me I am clear and can do things. Mental health is very much a part of it. And Movember recognizes that. It is never too late to donate. If not to me to someone else. Please consider donating .

Good Morning:

Well I do one selfish plug a year.

It is November 15th And I have not done any fundraising. So many other things going on this year. Hard to keep up.

Obviously health has been in the forefront for me as I cope with my bout of Covid and the resulting blood clot and breathing issues. All health issues are important.

More importantly my brothers are kicking my derriere in the fundraising department and I have enough sibling rivalry left that I cannot let that happen.

27 Week(s) Ago

Movermber 06, 2023. Not an Auspicious start to November. In terms of health my scans have been done and it appears I at least still have the Blood Clot in my leg. Have to wait for the doctor to confirm but that is not until the 21st. Lungs look l clear but still have to wait for the 21st for confirmation.
It is not until you are not allowed to do the stuff you take for granted that you realize how much you do and like to do. If you can donate to Movember to help better health do so. If not to me to someone. Stay healthy. Work at being healthy.

Back in the saddle again. This year I am still doing it to honour my father and now for me as well. Since catching COVID for the first time in March and as a result Blood Clots and Breathing issues I have been restricted from a lot of activities. Tests have been done and reports are in but no Doctor's appointment until the end of November. Still I will begin light activities regardless now. Until the doctors decide to tell me what is going on. I can not believe how much I miss the activities I do. A lesson for a us all do something no matter how small build up your health. You will love it. Consider giving to Movember if not through me through someone else.

A very special thank you to all of you who braved the wind, rain and then snow to come to our Hot Dog Barbecue fund raiser. Between Cash donations and on hte spot direct donations we raised an additional $312.10. You all rock.

76 Week(s) Ago

It is the last day! We are preparing for our Hot Dog Barbecue. If you are in the Area stop by donate what you can for a hot dog and drink. Thank you to all who donated and helped me reach my goal. Still not too late to help me blow my goal out of the water or donate to someone else to help them reach their goal. You all rock.

76 Week(s) Ago

If you live in Kitchener Waterloo. Do not forget that Phil and I are having a fund raising barbecue tomorrow. Come grab a hot dog and drink and donate what you can. And we have 100 dad jokes ready just for you.

ONE MORE DAY! I will be happy to see the 'stache go and what little hair i have on my head come back.
On a more serious note this is giving Tuesday. And whether yo give to me, to someone else or to another charity please do give.

My wife and I lost a friend this weekend. We were God-Parents to one of his daughters. He was living proof of what supporting research for health does. He had a liver transplant and survived another four years to enjoy his, family, children and Grand Children. Please donate to the charity of your choice and lets eliminate some of these medical conditions that continue to take lives.

Movember 28, 2022. Who knew. Many thanks to everyone who donated to me. It was greatly appreciated. There is still time to donate if you have not already done so. If not to me then to someone else. Make it count.

77 Week(s) Ago

Wow! A thank you to everyone who pushed me over my goal. You all Rock! It is still not over. If you still want to donate to me please do so or go to someone else and help them make their goal. Everyone's health is important. It is a worthy cause.

77 Week(s) Ago

Two thirds through the month. The 'stache is what it is. I may need just for men so you a can actually see it. So close to my goal!. Just a few more donations and I am there. It would e the first time Ever I actually reached the number. Always been short. Help me cross the finish line. And again if not to me help some one else cross the finish line.

78 Week(s) Ago

On November 30, 2022. Phil and I are having a Barbecue Fund raiser for Movember. See the poster below. Come get a hot dog and soda and donate what you can.

78 Week(s) Ago

.Well, we are moin' through the month. Back and Wrist are calming down and the belt is getting loose. Little steps can make the difference. Everyone should start taking a little bit better care of themselves. That is why it is important to get he word out and help where you can. If you can afford to donate a little please do. IF not to me to someone else. Every donation helps. Oh and those of you in the neighbourhood keep November 30th open. Phil and I will be having a fund raising barbeque in the snow. More information to come. Stay and get healthy.

78 Week(s) Ago

Wow almost halfway through. I need help this year. Slow to get started but a I am moving. If you can donate to me. Great! If you have already donated to someone else, thank you and no problem.

79 Week(s) Ago

A little slow out of the gate this year. Probably true for a lot of people. This year I am working on getting healthier and still working for the cause. Getting older presents challenges but there is always something that can be done. Eating better. Support of Friends. Recognizing that you need help. Exercise. Consider donating to Movember if not to me to someone else you know.

Note: As donations can be made privately, not all donations are displayed to the public.
