FAQ

Where do I get this app?

The app will be available from the App Store and Google Play Store from mid-October - stay tuned!

I haven’t signed up; can I do it from the app?

Yes. You can sign up with your email or Facebook credentials via the mobile app.

I’m out & about, talking about Movember, how do I recruit people to my team?

We're thrilled you are having real conversations about real men's health issues. Use the "Recruit" tab in your app, and a menu will appear allowing you to recruit people to Movember and/or to your team (if you're a team captain) via social media and email. If you’re on a team, you’ll see a “Recruit” tab in the app’s main menu – open this screen to see your team’s Mo Space URL and share it via social media and email.

I had last year’s app but I’m not seeing any of this functionality?

Past apps are entirely different applications from the 2016 app. Delete last year’s app and download the 2016 app (*available mid-October).You will need to update your app to the 2017 version (available mid-October) to see the latest functionality.

Can I use this app on my iPad or iTouch?

Yes, although the app is not designed for resolutions greater than an iPhone.

Can I make donations directly on my phone?

Yes. Mo Bros and Mo Sistas will be able to make donations directly on their phone. Andriod users can make donations from within the app. iPhone/iPad users will be taken from the Movember app to Movember’s website in Safari to make a donation (this is an Apple requirement).

Because you're receiving goods in exchange, unfortunately, your purchase is not considered a donation and you cannot claim a tax deduction.

We work all year long to lock in our valued sponsors – with many already secured for 2017. But we’re always open to an awesome last minute opportunity. Please email your idea to info.ca@movember.com and our friendly Mo partnership experts will get back to you.

At Movember, we like to keep things simple, and only ask that you Grow a moustache, Move, or Host an event.

While growing a Mo is left to the guys, Mo Sistas (women who love Mo’s and want to support men's health) do a lot of important work for Movember. Mo Sistas can get involved by:

  • Signing Up  up online, recruiting a team and raising money
  • Setting a Move distance target
  • Hosting events
  • Making a donation to a Mo Bro
  • Supporting and showing love for the Mo
  • Purchasing Movember merchandise

Mo recognition: a smile or nod of recognition for a Mo Bro’s moustache growing and fundraising efforts is always appreciated!

If you’re using the iOS app, go the the ‘Share page’ button on your team page – this will let you instantly share the app across social media.

If you’re using the Android app, under the My Team menu item, you will also see a Recruit Team Members option. Tap this, and you’ll see a page with your team’s link on it, and a Share Link button. Select this, and you will be able to instantly share your team’s page to the social media apps you already have on your device.

The great news is, you can share the team page no matter whether you’re a team member, or team captain. The link will help you instantly get the word out on social media.
We update our apps for each Movember campaign, and sometimes need to put out updates for bug fixes and other improvements, so we strongly encourage you to update to the latest version to ensure everything works smoothly and you have access to the latest and greatest features.

If you’re an Android user, your 2016 version is the latest. You’re ready to Mo!
Sure can. Much like a responsive website, the app layout to resize itself to fit the iPad screen you’re using.
Absolutely. Mo Bros and Mo Sistas will be able to make donations directly on their phone.

Android users can make donations from within the app, while iPhone/iPad users will be taken from the iOS Movember app to Movember’s website in Safari to make a donation (this is an Apple requirement).
Once the lead up to Movember is in full gear, you can download the app App Store and Google Play Store.
Sign up online as part of a team or as an individual and we will email you all the information you need to get started.

The Movember Foundation is the global charity that advocates for men, raising funds and awareness to stop men dying too young. We want to help men live happier, healthier, longer lives through investing in three key areas: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health and suicide prevention.

We’ve empowered millions of men and women to join the global men’s health movement. Through the moustaches grown, the connections created, and the conversations generated, we’ve proudly welcomed over 5 million Mo Bro and Mo Sista participants, and helped fund 1,200 innovative men’s health projects across 21 countries.

But there is still much work to be done. When it comes to their health, too many men don’t feel they have the support talk, don’t take action, and die too young.

Every Movember, we challenge men to Grow a moustache, and men and women alike to set a Move distance target or Host an event. Participants simply sign up at movember.com and go from there.

After signing up, participants get friends, family, or colleagues to donate to their efforts and stop men dying too young.

Mo is Australian slang for Moustache. Mos can grow in all shapes, sizes and colors. The Mo-growing journey is undertaken by Mo Bros across the world who all abide by these grooming guidelines:
  1. There is to be no joining of the Mo to side burns – That’s a beard
  2. There is to be no joining of the handlebars – That’s a goatee
  3. A small complimentary growth under the bottom lip is allowed (aka a tickler)
  4. No fake moustaches, only a real man growing a real moustache

We fund health programs directly and also through our men’s health partners, such as Prostate Cancer Canada.

We’ve prioritized 3 funding areas:

Prostate cancer – We invest in research and health services that will result in new tests and treatments to better diagnose the disease and stop its progression.

Testicular cancer – We invest in research that will result in a better understanding of the disease and why some men relapse and others do not.

Mental health and suicide prevention – We invest in programs to help men and boys stay mentally healthy. In Canada, we invest in health services that will focus on community-level prevention programs to improve mental health.

These programs, directed by the Movember Foundation, are focused on achieving our vision to have an everlasting impact on the face of men’s health. If you would like more information, please check out our Report Cards where you’ll find listed all of our programs funded to date.

Movember takes photos and videos at our events and we use these images on our websites, mobile apps and across a wide range of our social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, etc) in our media and other communications.  Our partners may also use images from our events in their own Movember-related materials.  Images from our events may also be displayed in internet search engine results, and Movember has no control over this.
We encourage you to check out this year’s Movember Collection and consider purchasing one of the limited edition items, rather than making your own merchandise. Proceeds from the sale of official merchandise come directly back to the Foundation to support men’s health.

This also allows us to protect our partner relationships and trademark. See terms and conditions for more information.
