Movember ran its fifth campaign in the Canada in 2011, raising an incredible $42 million. This is a terrific effort by our passionate Mo Bros, Mo Sistas and donors at a time when economic conditions are tough and every dollar counts.
After the admin, retained funds and cost of running the campaign, all funds raised go towards awareness, research and survivorship programs.
In 2011 our cost ratio was 8%, meaning that 92% of funds raised, or 92 cents on the dollar, went towards our men’s health initiatives. Industry standard for cost ratios are between 15-25%. We work hard to keep these as low as possible and keep as much funds as possible going towards our programs.
Of the funds donated outside of operating costs 90% of these go towards Prostate Cancer Canada and 10% goes to The Movember Foundations GAP program.
The financial summary for the 2011 campaign is located
here with complete details available in the annual report.
In 2012 50% of funds raised after operating costs will go towards Prostate Cancer Canada, 10% will go to support prostate cancer initiatives through the Movember Foundation’s
GAP program and 40% will go to support male mental health initiatives of the Canadian Male Health Network.
