Men's health Prostate cancer Testicular cancer Mental health and suicide prevention
Movember is here, and I’m starting my 14th year raising awareness and funds for men’s health. This supports research and programs for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health. Last year, with your help, I was able to raise over $5000. That brings me to over $37,000. Thank you to all those who have supported me over the years. For those of you who are recent supporters or new to my site, I wanted to reach out to you so you can see why I have been doing this for 14 years. For the first 3 years, I was doing it, just because it seemed like maybe it was a good idea, as my dad, Richard, was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in 1999. Then, in December 2013, my dad, who had been doing so well, suddenly took a turn for the worse. The cancer had spread to his bones. The physical change was fast. He passed on July 31st, 2014.
Unfortunately, my story is not unique. It still makes me sad when I write emails and tell my story, or his story. But it also makes me hopeful. I’m sure that I can help make a difference. Especially with your help. Please help me find a cure for this disease.
With gratitude,
Dennis
Well, just a week left in this year’s campaign. I am more aware that there are lots of great causes out there, leaving people torn or unable to support multiple charities.
I appreciate any amount to my Movember. It shows that the message has been delivered.
Thanks to those that have shared my page and story. I am grateful
Day 9 of my Movember. I am at $810
Today . This is about 1/3 of my goal.
I’m reaching out to my past supporters to help me reach my goal.
I’d like to thank all of the people who have helped me out this year.
