My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Testicular cancer

I’ve grown a moustache and raised funds for Movember every year since 2011. It’s fun to sport a bold ’stache with friends—and even better to support a charity that does vital work for men’s health worldwide.

Five years ago, that mission became personal. Doctors found a mass in my left testicle after several ultrasounds and an MRI, and they suspected cancer. Because early action is critical, I went straight in for an orchiectomy. The surgery itself was routine, but I had to wait an anxious 72 hours for the pathology results.

A teammate from my Movember group sent me the charity’s resources on testicular cancer, and the stories of other men’s recoveries kept me calm. Thankfully, my results came back negative: no cancer. The experience, however, changed me for good.

Movember shines a spotlight on issues men face—mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer—and its conversations have helped me and many others. Since my scare, I’ve quit alcohol and made my overall well-being a priority.

My next goal is to run all six World Marathon Majors. I ran Chicago in 2024 and hope to qualify for Boston, in 2026. To run New York with the Movember Team and raise money for the organization that supported me will be a dream come true.

I am committed to wearing a moustache to raise funds for Movember, and preventing prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. Look upon my face and search within your heart to donate money so that I meet my goal of $500.

Note: As donations can be made privately, not all donations are displayed to the public.
