My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Mental health and suicide prevention

Ever since my first moustache hair sprouted out of my lip I have participated in Movember. At first it was just an excuse to wear a dusty looking stache without catching too much verbal abuse. As I learned more and more about the causes that Movember supports, it became something more than just a bit of fun. This year I want to focus my efforts on raising money and awareness towards the alarming rate of mental health problems and suicide that we see in our society, both of which are particularly high in men. Suicide affects us all. Every year, too many people lose a brother, a father, a friend or relative to suicide.
This year I want to dedicate my Movember efforts to my late friend Brayden Proctor. Brayden was always the one of the most kind, generous, and selfless individuals that I had ever met. He was consistently involved in supporting charitable causes that he was passionate about, or those that his friends were passionate about. Brayden was always the first one to lend a hand, an ear, or a dollar to a friend when they needed it, hell the guy would literally give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. That's just the type of person he was. I know that he would have been one of the first to donate to my movember fundraiser each year, and I know he would be proud to know that he is serving as the inspiration for positive change.
I want to honour his memory by growing a mo, starting conversations, and raising money for a great cause in his name.
Movember is aiming to reduce the rate of male suicide by 25% by 2030, and I want to help them get there.
This year, especially, has highlighted for me how immeasurably important it is for us to connect, communicate, and share moments with our friends and families.
Let's normalize seeking help and make it easier for men to talk about what's wrong.
Let's make it known that our friends and family can always come to us for support.
Let's make it so that nobody has to suffer in silence anymore.
Let's make it so that that nobody has to lose a friend, a family member, or their own life to suicide.
Please consider growing a mo, donating some dough, or starting a conversation this November.
