Mental health and suicide prevention

Hello Everyone,

This year I would like to raise money for mental health by growing my moustache and posting updates on social media. More importantly, I would like to put mental health under the spotlight and provide support to those in need, with the help of all my friends and family.

Sincerely,

Daniel Nazareth

How often do we hold ourselves and our loved ones accountable for the choices that impact our mental health and well-being?

We all want to feel well and be mentally healthy, but achieving these goals takes time, perseverance, and commitment. The journey towards better wellness is incredibly difficult and oftentimes we get stuck. We easily lose the motivation to go to the gym, skip the junk food, or wake up early. However, we should keep in mind that nothing worth having comes easy.

It is important for us to actively find ways to better ourselves. With a proper plan, the right intentions, and some resilience, we can give ourselves the opportunity to grow. By holding ourselves accountable, we can achieve what we set out to do. We need to stay mindful of the choices, habits, and behaviours that take us away from our goals. Knowing that we’re not perfect, we should forgive ourselves so that we can reflect, learn, and prevent future stumbles.

This #Movember let’s encourage each other to take action towards improving our wellness. Let's hold ourselves and each other accountable so that we may grow and become better versions of ourselves. Let’s keep in mind that anyone who says only sunshine brings happiness, has never danced in the rain.

Much love,

Daniel Nazareth

How many times do we reflect on our mental health during each day? How aware are we of the mental state of those around us?

We are constantly bombarded with the challenges that life throws at us. Rather than confront these adversities right away, we often bottle them and move on with our busy schedules. It is incredibly easy to brush things off and tell ourselves that there are bigger things to worry about in our lives or the lives of others... until the bottle we have been filling shatters and we find ourselves trapped and alone—uncertain where to turn, with negative thoughts looming.

This #Movember let's open up to each other and prevent that bottle from filling up too much. Let's grow those mo's or give some dough! Most importantly, let's reach out and encourage each other to talk about our mental health. Tomorrow when we wake up we should ask ourselves, "What will I do today for someone else's mental health?" and "What will I do today for my own mental health?" By doing so, we can help improve the mental health and well-being of ourselves and those around us.
