An adult shelter based in Ottawa, Centre 507 has embraced the Movember ideals and become a remarkable part of the Movember story.

Centre 507 offer various services to men in need, while also providing a host of health initiatives. This year they’ve had residents participate in 30 minutes of exercise a day with a walking group, offered one men's health message a day, and had daily breakfasts to discuss why everyone takes part in our hairy cause.

In a nutshell, they’re getting disadvantaged men talking about their health, while trying to improve it.

Joshua Bridges is leading the team: “We started as a way for Centre 507 participants to take part in a good cause. A secondary reason was to promote men’s health and raise awareness in this particular community.”

“Where I see the most benefits is with the countless conversations caused by the campaign and the increase self-esteem due to the opportunity of giving back to such a great cause.”
