Matty’s heritage barbering style was inspiring by his grandfather, who passed away three years ago. “He was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. He always had his hair styled back, he wore a tie to dinner every night, his shoes were polished, and he was kind, charming, and courteous,” said Matty Conrad, owner of the Victory and Brand barbershop. “His passing caused me to reflect on where masculinity has heading and how it managed to stray so far from my grandfather’s generation.”
Mo Bro Matty then decided to open up an old fashioned barbershop that was focused entirely on classic men’s grooming and lifestyle. Victory Barber and Brand has been so successful that Matty will be attending the Canadian Hairstylist Championships on Movember 11th, where is competing for the title of Canada’s Men Hairstylist of the year!
Matty is also a firm supporter of Movember, and Victory Barber and Brand believes in bringing awareness about prostate cancer and men's mental health to the community! “Movember is a no brainer for us, being that we are a shop devoted to men's grooming, a charity devoted to men's health is a great fit,” said Matty Conrad. “We believe in doing as much charity work as possible. Barbershops are about community and we want to support ours as much as they support us”
Victory Barber and Brand will be donating their moustache grooming services for the month to help raise money for Movember; also a portion of the proceeds from the sale of moustache wax will be donated as well.
