Fundraising raises fun…and prizes
2 MIN READ
Our dedicated Mo Bros and Mo Sistas, thank you for supporting the power of the moustache and inspiring others to get involved or donate to the cause. Because of you, Moustache Season 2011 has been a great success!
We’d like to recognize some individuals and teams whose fundraising efforts paid off, not only to change the face of men’s health, but to be rewarded too!

The Big Mo on Campus award, or BMOC, for 2011 goes to… McGill. This year McGill gets to proudly display the Movember Moustache Trophy with their school name engraved. Congratulations on a job well done, McGill.

The BMOC Mo Mo award goes to… Leonard Schlemm, member of Team CV Logistics from Dalhousie University. Leonard wins this terrific prize. A major Mo congratulations to Leonard.

The BMOC Top Team award goes to uOttawa Law/Droit, congratulations to them for winning this terrific prize.

The winner of the Mercedes-Benz lease is…

Congratulations to Jijesh Devan of Toronto for winning the $50 Draw Prize, a one-year lease of a Mercedes-Benz GLK. Any Mo will look great driving in one of these fine autoMobiles.

Jijesh himself raised over $1,200, making him the highest earner for his team from QuickPlay Media, who collectively raised almost $4,000. He’s a first time Mo Bro and father who had lots of motivation to grow: “My three year old son, Arun, is very close with his great grandpa who is living with prostate cancer, and all the Mo Bros from QuickPlay Media who have been doing it for many years were my motivation for participating this year.”

Congratulations to Jijesh, a deserving Mo Bro!

And the Harley Winner is…

Bobby Tinkler of Quebec wins one of the most motastic prizes there is, a Harley Davidson Motorcycle!

Every Mo Bro and Mo Sista who raised $100 or more was automatically entered into a draw to win the ultimate moustache accessory… a Harley!

This year was winner Bobby’s first year participating in Movember, but he supported the cause with gusto. He raised over $1,000 to help change the face of men’s health, and the team he captained, Rawdon Crew, raised over $3,000. His Movember efforts were also very personal as he recently lost his father to cancer and his Grandfather to prostate cancer.

The only bumpy part of Bobby’s Movember journey is when he found out he won the Harley – he simply couldn’t believe it. “To be honest with you, I was very surprised and for a long time I thought it was someone playing a joke on me… a very mean joke! Until I got my second email from [the National Director], Pete Bombaci, I doubted if it was real.” Mused Bobby over his winnings.

Congratulations to Bobby – a very deserving Mo Bro!

Check out the amazing work done by our top teams of 11 or more participating Mo Bros and Mo Sistas, a special congrats to the Mo CIBC team from CIBC for being the top winners in their category.
