The Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment family has joined the cause this Moustache Season, and it is especially mo-tastic as one very special Maple Leaf is coming out of retirement… and bringing his razor with him.
Wendel Clark has shaved his famous moustache for the first time in nearly 20 years at the Leafs Vs. Penguins game earlier in the month.
That’s right, Wendel hasn’t had a full shave down since 1994! His Mo has seen a lot of things: 3 Prime Ministers, that thing called “the internet” catch on, a sheep get cloned, and children grow up and transition from playing with beanie babies to iPhones. That mo has had a great run, and Movember is truly honoured to have him shave down and re-grow, all to help change the face of men’s health.
At the MLSE Movember Announcement Wendel went into detail about why he decided to become a Mo Bro for the first time, “I’ve had a lot of acquaintances and teammates who have been through prostate cancer. One in seven men will have it, but if you catch it early, it’s curable. That’s the big thing, awareness.”
There really isn’t a more Canadian way to further awareness, than have one of the most famous Mo’s in Hockey disappear and reappear to get people talking about men’s health.
Mo Leafs Mo!
