Hockey players have long been known for their fine dress and manners off the ice and their speed and toughness on, and now, in 2010, a certain bit of luxury has followed them onto the ice…all in honor of Movember.  Not since the days of the bell-bottom and disco have there been so many hairy upper lips present in rinks across the NHL….until now.  For Movember 2010 close to 150 NHLers across 14 teams, both Canadian and US, have signed on the dotted line to grow their little bit of luxury and help change the face of men’s health.

To help increase the effort long-time hockey analyst Gino Reda has decided to challenge every player across the league to a Mo growing contest and will re-grow his once famous moustache for the cause.  To help Gino in his effort and judge the ultimate NHL Mo, along with 12 of his teammates, Anaheim Ducks tough-guy George Parros had his renowned and intimidating Mo removed by an official Movember trimmer last week and is re-growing arm in arm with his NHL brethren.

“My teammates and I are excited to join this great cause,” said Parros. “It’s a fun way to bring awareness to cancers affecting men. I look forward to seeing what kind of ‘staches our team can produce.”
