Our Motivation

Aikido has been for me and many many others a mental health life line at various times in my life. Depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts were kept in check by the state of mental calmness that aikido as a form of moving meditation creates. Two to three hours 4 times a week ,all outside troubles disappear as you focus only on bringing your mind, body and spirit together in relaxed, powerful movements and techniques. Many of us are lucky to have Yoshinkan Aikido practice to help us. Through fundraising and building knowledge, understanding and acceptance of men's mental health needs, we hope to facilitate more men opening up, seeking support, help, and making healthy lifestyle decisions whatever works best for each individual.
