My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Mental health and suicide prevention

It is just over 11 years since my younger Brother Duncan died by suicide after living with Paranoid Schizophrenia for almost 20 years.

Duncan has been my main motivator for MOvember’s focus on men’s mental health and I will continue to share Duncan’s story and be a spokesperson for mental health programs and care.

But this year I want to shift my focus a bit…

I want to look at how we work to ensure men live longer, healthier lives as, on average, men die 5 years younger than our female counterparts- and for reasons that are largely preventable.

I want us to take the reigns on doing the things that will extend our time on the planet.

And so- I will use my platforms and communications to focus on 4 areas identified through research of blue zones where larger portions of residents live significantly longer than other regions… To build our skills.

• Purpose and Wellbeing- or ‘Ikigai’
• Diet
• Move Naturally
• Stress Reduction

It is for this reason I ask you to support my MOvember campaign for men's health and help men live longer, more fulfilling lives.

As a first step- while it is by no means a cure please make every effort to keep open conversation with friends and families.

(Talk. Ask. Listen. Encourage action. Check in. Check in. Check in.)

As Week 2 wraps up, the Movember Business Club is firing on all cylinders — and the impact across your organizations is already incredible.

Teams are rallying, Mos are filling in, and conversations are happening in boardrooms, break rooms, and virtual meetings — exactly what this Club is all about.

The momentum this week has been outstanding. You’re raising funds, raising awareness, and supporting one another in championing mental health, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer.

A massive thank-you to everyone who’s been part of this so far — your leadership is making a real difference.
Now’s the time to see who’s climbing the leaderboard and where your workplace stands.

Let’s carry this energy into Week 3. Keep growing, keep moving, and keep driving impact for men’s health.
