Doing whatever I can to help destigmatize men’s health worldwide. This mo’ is not only dedicated to the memory of my uncle who battled failing health in the final years of his life but also for men’s health in general. The more we talk the more we can help each other.
Happy middle of the mo’nth everyone! I am halfway through growing my mo’, halfway through my moving goal and almost halfway through my donation goal! But why should you donate to Movember? I’ve done this for a few years now and I often forget to talk about why I grow the mo’. I just do it. Well here’s the reason:
The short of it is I’m raising money for men’s health. Movember for me is all about destigmatizing men’s health while legitimately tackling some of the bigger challenges men face. The culture we live in can negatively impact men. Sometimes we (men) think it easier to not talk about what’s impacting us Mentally or physically. Sadly the result can then become a crisis situation when a simple conversation earlier might have made a difference.
The mo’ (and this conversation) is my way of shining light here. To remind men (everyone really) to reach out if you’re in need. To me or to someone you are comfortable talking with.
Movember tackles the bigger issues. Donating to them helps fund research for testicular and prostate cancer while also funding men’s health lines. Regardless whether you donate or not I would recommend checking the website out to get a fuller understanding of their work.
In the meantime… yeah… that’s why I’m here. That’s why I’m growing my mo’. Thanks for listening!
