Life, grief, loss and then all the work trauma that we see as First Responders changes you. For years, I transmitted my trauma, unintentionally, of course, onto my family. I didn't like how I was showing up at home with a short fuse, no patience, burst of anger, and very tired. Depleted, truly. Being a first responder parent, I had the best of intentions. When my daughter was born, I wanted to protect her. I wanted to be the best dad, of course. Then life happens. I have learned that you have to be intentional about taking care of yourself. You have to acknowledge that you’re hurting or maxed out. You have to know when to reach out. Movember has allowed me to share my story and to help normalize the conversation!

Movember 30 is just around the corner—time to sound the siren for the final push!

Thank you for fueling the flames of support throughout Movember.
As we prepare for the final rescue operation, take a moment to survey the scene—you’ve helped raise the ladder for men’s health with every ‘stache, every event, and every dollar raised.

Mark your calendars: the leaderboards will officially close on Tuesday, December 10th, at 5 PM EST. That’s when we’ll announce the 2024 Great Canadian Fire Challenge Champion. Donations can still roll in after this deadline, but they won’t count toward the leaderboard standings.

Let’s finish strong and douse the flames of men's health challenges together. Thank you for being the firefighters behind this incredible movement!

The competition is fierce and the firefighting follicles are starting to come in. We're not even at the halfway mark.

Keep up the amazing work.

United We Mo!!

Week 1 of Movember is rounding up!

If you're Growing, we hope you've got some solid stubble making an appearance and those Mos are starting to take shape.

If you're Moving, Hosting, or Mo’ing Your Own Way, keep up the fantastic momentum—you're all doing an incredible job raising both funds and awareness for men's health!

So many teams are absolutely smashing it this year. Take a look at the Mo leaderboard below:

Steve's Story - The Real Face of Men's Health

A career firefighter, Steve started to notice he was taking his stress and trauma from his calls home to his daughter. He knew something needed to change.

Men’s health impacts us all because we all have fathers, brothers, sons, partners, and friends whom we love.

When these men are unwell and unsupported, we all feel it. But when they’re well, the benefits ripple through relationships, families and communities.

Attention Great Canadian Fire Challenge - it's time for liftoff!

The hairiest month of the year is here, and we’re ready to change the face of men’s health.

Whether you’re Growing, Moving, Hosting, or Mo’ing Your Own Way – we salute you! Every whisker grown, step taken, event hosted, or bold dare accepted helps Movember raise critical funds and awareness for men’s health.

Teams are already rising up the leaderboard for a shot at gold. Who will take it home this year?

Previous year's posts

Let the Celebration Begin! We're thrilled to announce the triumphant finale of our 2023 Movember campaign – and oh, what a ride it's been! The Great Canadian Fire Challenge blazed its way to success, setting the fundraising bar ablaze with an incredible $558,133! A round of applause and cheers to the Southern Georgian Bay Firefighters, our Challenge champions, and a standing ovation for the outstanding Samantha Barnett, our top fundraiser! A heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you for being the driving force behind bringing Movember to life. Your dedication is more than just admirable; it's a beacon of hope for men's health. With your unwavering support, we're not just breaking ground; we're lighting up the path to reach more men and save more lives. Dive into the final standings below – it's a celebration worth remembering! Wishing you a holiday season filled with joy, laughter, and the warmth of your well-deserved success. United We Mo!

Thank-you for your commitment and support.

We've now arrived at Movember 30 and everyone in this challenge should pause for a moment to reflect on an amazing job done, what can only be described as an epic 'stache and an impressive commitment to help change the face of men's health.

As Mo season is coming to a close, I want to flag that the leaderboards will officially close on Thursday, December 7th at 5 pm EST, marking the moment we crown our 2023 Movember champions of each challenge. While donations can still be received after this time, please note that they won't contribute to the leaderboard race.

Thanks for all you have done this year and will continue to do as we move forward.

United We Mo!!!

So glad to have you back again this year - one more day to go! We really appreciate all you've done from men's health. The fundraising yes - but the connection and conversations you've started with your efforts - good as gold! Thank you!

One man dies by suicide every minute of every day, with males accounting for 69% of all suicides. This is the shocking state of men’s mental health globally. I’m proud to support the fundraising efforts of Movember and wanted to share some resources created by the International Association of Fire Fighters.

Thanks for the shout out from Mo Leader Mitch about our BC Firefighter Resiliency program! Movember donations really have made a local impact here in BC and the funds have gone to support BC firefighters and police in a time when they need it the most.
I’m also very happy to be part of the Coquitlam Firefighters’, Movember team! So far I’m the top firefighter fundraiser in Canada and would love to keep it that way!!
