In late September last year, my son Ethen was diagnosed with Testicular cancer, just after turning 18 years old. This diagnosis came as a complete shock to our family, and if not for his personal decision to seek a medical examination, his prognosis could have been much worse. Within 48 hours Ethen had undergone surgery and was brought up to speed on the many years of tests and invasive examinations he would now endure. We cannot always define courage, but we know it when we see it. I continue to see it in Ethen, and could not be prouder. Raising awareness and donations for this cause is very near and dear to us because education on symptoms and self examination, are essential to increasing survival rates. I can tell you with honesty that when Ethen discussed his symptoms, I didn’t think much of them. We need young men and parents to know before they get to where I was so outcomes are better. Finally, monies raised will be used to help with the psychological effects of this disease which would be devastating to an older man, let alone a teenager. Movember is working to halve the number of deaths from testicular cancer by 2030, and I want to help them get there. Help me stop men dying too young. Thank-you for your contribution!
