Why I Keep Showing Up

Ten years in—and I’m still here. Not out of habit, but because it matters. Because it makes a difference.

I donate, I grow a Mo, I run, I support, and I speak up—for Ash R., Lyle M., and Gerry B., who are in the thick of the fight. And I do it in memory of Francesco D'Errico, Glenn Ringham, John Joubert, Tom Posthuma, and Ray Broderick—men whose battles ended, but whose stories live on in me.

Cancer has left its mark on my life, and chances are, it’s touched yours too—or will. So let’s stand together. Let’s do something, however small, to push back against this disease.

But this isn’t just about cancer.

It’s also about the silent struggles—mental health and suicide prevention. These battles are often invisible, but they’re happening all around us. You might be surprised how close they are. Someone near you may be hurting right now. Let’s make sure they’re not alone. Let’s help them find the support they need.

Because showing up—for them, for each other—is how we make a difference.

Week 3 is nearly behind us, and the Business Club is showing what real leadership in men’s health looks like. The mustaches are bold, the kms are climbing, and meaningful conversations are happening in boardrooms, on job sites, and everywhere in between.

The momentum has been fantastic. Teams are engaging their colleagues, hosting creative fundraisers, and stepping up.

With the final week ahead and Movember Challenges closing on December 10, now’s the time to finish strong. Share your Mo Space, ask for that final donation, bring your team together, or log a few extra kms—every action makes a difference.

Take a look at who’s rising on the leaderboard and where your team stands.

Let’s finish strong and show the country how the Movember Business Club leads for men’s health.

Stepping Up for Men’s Health — One Stair at a Time
A One-Day Movember Event.
Date: Wednesday, November 12, 2025
Time: During lunch hours
Location: Edmonds Tower Lobby
This Movember, BC Hydro’s HydroMo’s Team Captain, Stefano D’Errico, is taking the challenge of raising awareness for men’s health to new heights—literally.
The Climb: A Towering Challenge
Stefano is committing to a stair-climbing feat that’s as ambitious as it is inspiring:
• 1 Tower
• 17 Floors
• 2 Flights per Floor
• 11 Stairs per Flight
• = 374 stairs per climb
Now multiply that by 10 towers in a row—that’s 3,740 stairs up and 3,740 stairs down, totaling 7,480 stairs climbed in support of men’s health. And he’s doing it all during lunch time on November 12.
Why It Matters
Every step Stefano takes is a powerful symbol of the uphill battle many men face with health issues like:
• Prostate cancer
• Testicular cancer
• Mental health challenges
• Suicide prevention
Whether you’re growing a Mo, getting active, or simply starting a conversation—your support matters.
How You Can Help
Come cheer Stefano on in the Edmonds Tower Lobby and be part of something meaningful. There will be opportunities to:
• Donate to Movember’s mission
• Scan the QR code onsite to contribute to Stefano’s fundraising efforts
• Raise awareness and show your support for men’s health
Let’s make every step, every conversation, and every donation count.

I would like to thank my team and my supporters for doing a phenomenal job of fundraising on what turned out to be a very difficult year for me. I lost my brother (in-law but he was really a brother to me) on Nov 20 to cancer. His illness and his passing kept me distracted from focusing on raising the funds I was hoping to raise with this team for this great cause. Know that my efforts next year will be greater in his memory.

416 Week(s) Ago

Yay! Made it to day 30 with only a smattering of insults. All worth the cause. I'm happy in this picture not because i was able to actually grow a mustache (a challenge to some but growing hair is my forte) but because not only did I hit my personal target...twice!...but also because the team is approaching $10K in funds raised. That is tremendous and is thanks to your generosity!! You rock! See you next year.

418 Week(s) Ago

Half-way! I am getting close to hitting my new target...just a bit more....
Okay the Mo is coming in strong and irritating as all hell, but well worth the cause. The cause is pretty much the only way my wife and kids will tolerate this look. I kinda like the look since it makes me look tougher....no? Just uglier...maybe?
A silent prayer for those close to you battling cancer. I have two close to me I ask you to pray for.

419 Week(s) Ago

My Day 8 photo. Yikes! See that look of shock on my face? Is it because it looks like I have tusks that have been dipped in vanilla ice cream? Or is it because I already exceeded my initial fundraising target thanks to your generosity. I have now increased my target accordingly.

Note: As donations can be made privately, not all donations are displayed to the public.
