This month marks Movember, and all around the world, men will attempt to grow moustaches with varying levels of success.
Whether they rock the handlebar, dali, fu Manchu, or painters brush, these moustaches undoubtedly spark important discussions about men’s health, all while moustache growers fundraise for the Movember Foundation.
Once again members of our caucus will be growing moustaches in an effort to help change the face of men’s health.
Our team lead will be the Minister of Rural and Remote Health, who has so far completed treatment in his battle against colorectal cancer.
He will also be joined by the Minister of Agriculture, the Minister of Advanced Education, the Minister of Highways and Infrastructure, and myself.
This year, in response to increasing numbers of men who take their own lives around the world, the Movember foundation is expanding its focus on mental health and suicide prevention.
The Foundation has set a goal of reducing male suicides by 25% by 2030 through education, providing service, and fighting against the stigmas of talking about mental illness.
With everyone’s help, we can achieve this goal.
And so, I ask all members to join me in supporting this important fundraising movement and to encourage the men in their lives to take steps toward better health.
