I have been raising funds for Movember for at least nine years. In the last year, the prostate cancer hit very close to home. Two dear friends within months of each other were diagnosed with prostate cancer. I heard first hand how tough the treatments were and what the results of the cancer are on the friends’ lives. Over the last twenty years, I have known too many people that have had prostate cancer.

In Canada, 1 in 9 men will develop prostate cancer in his lifetime, making it the leading men’s cancer. Yet, if detected and treated early there is a 95% survival rate. There is no better time than now to join the fight against prostate cancer.
