How to fundraise

Not everyone runs at the challenge of changing men’s health. But you’re built different.

You’re signed up, ready to roll and we thank you for it. The next step is deciding exactly how you’ll fundraise.

Four ways to fundraise

Choose as many as you like. Then use your Mo Space to ask for donations and keep friends updated throughout the month. Your Mo Space is your personal fundraising page where donations to you land and where your story lives.

Grow a Mo

If there's one thing Movember is known for, it's this. Growing a Mo is our symbol for better men’s health. It also grabs attention and starts important conversations. So give it a go – it shows the world you stand for healthier men and a healthier world.

Move for mental health

Move is how we remember the 60 men lost to suicide globally, every hour. To take part, all you have to do is run or walk 60km. Cover the distance in one go or over the month.

Host a Mo-ment

Why not host an event that raises awareness and funds for men’s health? Make having a good time your goal and you won’t go wrong.

Mo Your Own Way

There are many ways to support Movember. That’s why we have Mo Your Own Way. Climb a mountain, break a personal best, quit social media for a month or take on a dare for men’s health. Do it your way and you won’t go wrong.

Start a team

Everything is better with friends.

Good things happen when people get together.

Take the lead, recruit your crew, chase a goal, and make a bigger difference for men’s health together.

Tips on asking for donations

Use those pre-written messages

Check out our pre-written messages that you can use as a starting point. Find them here. Add your personal touch, then send off via email, social or offline.

  • Family and friends first - they'll be the most supportive.
  • Back yourself - make the first donation and challenge others to match it.
  • Tried and true - ask those who've supported you in the past. Find their details in your Mo Space under My Account > Fundraising History.
  • Share why you're doing it - a personal story is the most powerful ask.
  • Ask again (and again) - once more for the people in the back. Include your Mo Space URL or QR code to make donating as easy as possible.

What to say when asking

  • "Globally, we lose a man to suicide about every minute."
  • "Prostate cancer is the 2nd most common cancer in men globally."
  • "Testicular cancer is the #1 cancer in young men aged 15-39 globally."
  • "Our fathers, partners, brothers and friends are dying too soon – from largely preventable reasons.”

Oversharing is caring

Now we’re not asking you to tell the world how often you have to trim your nose hairs.

What we mean is this: get the word out that you’re doing Movember. Get on social media. Tell them how. Show them why. Let everyone know what you’re doing.

Social media: Livestream your shave-down. Post updates post-run. Every update shared is your chance for more donations and support.

Local press: If you’re going all out, talk to your Movember contact; they’ll provide you with advice for contacting local press.

Email and WhatsApp/text: Pre-written messages are ready for your contacts list and group chats. Download them from the Resources page.

It’s true: Movember is good for you

You know what your support does for men's health. Here's what it does for you…

Most people do Movember to raise awareness for men’s health. More than 9 in 10 finish the month with a sense of purpose - including plenty who weren't looking for one.

They finish healthier, too. The share of fundraisers who rate their own health as 'very good' or 'excellent' climbs across the month.

And doing Movember feels like it matters because it does: 9 in 10 fundraisers say Movember changes or saves lives.

So, when you do Movember for the men in your life, you also feel it in your own.
