This year our Mo Bro Kirk MacLean took a couple of the key elements of Movember and ran with them – literally.

As an advocate of our MOVE campaign, and as a thinker, maker and doer, Kirk got out on the road and ran every single day to raise awareness and money for men’s health. Before the start of the hairy month, Kirk used social media to tell all his followers and friends that in an effort to raise $1000 he would get up and start running every morning at 8am, and keep going until he couldn’t run any more.

“It's something I love to do and it's part of me living a healthy active lifestyle everyday.”

“I made this life change 3 years ago when I lost my grandfather to prostate cancer and have lost friends to suicide in college. I sought out the Movember Foundation because it raises awareness towards the things that affect me personally and I couldn't be more proud to help so we can help lower those numbers.”

Inspired by Kirk’s incredible level of commitment to changing the face of men’s health, he reached his $1000 target just 10 days into Movember. He didn’t stop there, though, and showed amazing resilience to keep running right up until the 30th of Movember, racking up an incredible $2,835 as he ran a gruelling 300 kilometres.

A marathon effort from a stellar Mo Bro.
