This year marks twenty years of Movember, the leading global movement for men's health.
As part of the celebrations, Movember has partnered with EA SPORTS FC to launch a limited-edition Movember moustache themed kit in FC 24, which was released on November 1st.
The kit design aims to draw attention to mental health and suicide prevention, with the design of the moustache formed from sixty lines, which represents the number of men’s lives lost to suicide every hour, around the world.
Players will be able to unlock the kit, which also features Movember’s official shaving partner Gillette, throughout the month of November.
In addition, FC 24 players have access to in-game Movember assets for stadium customisation; including banners, ad boards, and flags, encouraging gamers to go “Beyond the Banter”.
This innovative partnership between Movember and EA SPORTS FC reflects the growing recognition of the importance of mental health in gaming.
Dan Cooper, Global Director of Innovation at Movember says;
“It’s an honour to work with EA SPORTS FC to support our mission in changing the face of men’s health. The visibility and impact within the gaming community can be immeasurable in reducing the stigma associated with mental health. This activation will help us to reach young men through a game that is played by people all over the world”.
James Salmon, Senior Director of Brand at EA SPORTS FC says;
“We’re proud to continue our long-standing partnership with Movember and help change the face of men’s health. Through the in-game kit we hope to raise further awareness around mental health and encourage young people to speak on any issues they may be facing.”
