Mental Health in Sports Panel Talk

Movember
1 minute read time

Movember is committed to changing the face of men’s health. Part of this commitment involves starting the conversation surrounding mental health and suicide prevention. Movember looks at mental health through a male lens, focusing on prevention, early intervention and health promotion.

Despite being physically fit, healthy and active, athletes can suffer from mental health problems, like everyone else. Mental health in sports is not always openly talked about, and Movember wants to change that. This month, Movember will kick off the conversation surrounding mental health and sports with three guest speakers.

Join us for meaningful discussions and honest conversations about mental health prevention, early intervention and suicide prevention in sports.

About our speakers

Tyler Smith

On April 6, 2018, Canadians across the country were heartbroken to hear of the devastating Humboldt Broncos bus crash. Tyler Smith was among the survivors. Tyler has been open about the mental health struggles he continues to face every day as a result of that horrific crash. He hopes that by telling his story, he can let other men who might be suffering know that its ok to not be ok.
