After two years of riding solo due to the global pandemic, we were delighted that the motorcycle community was able to reunite in trademark dapper fashion this year for The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride (DGR) 2022.

On Sunday 22nd May 2022, the world's largest motorcycling charity event saw an incredible 93,441 riders – including astronaut Tim Peake and Outlander star Sam Heughan - swapping their leathers for their finest get-up in 770 cities across the world to ride together and raise an astonishing $8.42million AUD for men's health.

Buenos Aires, Manila, and Mexico City boasted the best attended rides (1,902 in Buenos Aires alone) in what turned out to be the second biggest DGR event in the last 10 years. Top of the fundraising leader board was the New York City ride which raised over $238K AUD from its 571 riders.

Movember CEO Michelle Terry says: “Over the last decade, DGR has come to symbolize the desire of the motorcycle community to stand together and support each other through tough times. After two years of having to ride solo, we are delighted to see the DGR community ride together again, shoulder to shoulder, raising vital funds for men’s health projects. We can’t thank them enough for everything they do.”

DGR was founded in Sydney, Australia, by Mark Hawwa. Inspired by a photo of TV show Mad Men's Don Draper astride a classic bike and wearing his finest suit, Mark decided a themed ride would be a great way of connecting motorcycle enthusiasts while raising funds to support the men in our lives.

" After two years of having to ride solo, we are delighted to see the DGR community ride together again, shoulder to shoulder, raising vital funds for men’s health projects. "

Movember has been the sole charity partner of The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride since 2016. Funds raised from the ride are invested in both local and global prostate cancer and men's mental health projects including DGR Social Connections Challenge and the Veterans and First Responders Mental Health Grant Program.
