Even the sharpest eye for detail might miss one of the most impressive facets of the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride. And hey, we get it. Silk cravats, vintage Triumphs and slick moustaches steal the show. But look a little closer; beyond the houndstooth is now one of the most impactful men’s health events on the planet.

All the style. All the substance.

For over 15 years, riders have rolled out in tweed suits, on café racers and lovingly restored bobbers. Women ride alongside men. Beginners roll with veterans.

In 2016, Movember jumped in the sidecar, becoming the event’s official charity partner. What brought us together was a shared desire to challenge stereotypes; DGR changes perceptions of men on motorcycles, just like Movember changes the face of men’s health.

Since then, riders have raised more than AUD $63.78 million for men’s health. Last year, DGR cruised across 1,037 cities and attracted 127,000 riders worldwide.

Side-by-side, we’re out for improving men’s health outcomes worldwide; and if it means more time spent on two wheels with the wind in our moustaches, then we’re all for it.

But where does the money go?

A Distinguished Gentleman keeps his receipts. So we’re glad you asked.

18 grants backing prostate cancer research globally have been partially funded through DGR. The goal? To make prostate cancer care equitable. So a person receives the best possible care regardless of background, birthplace, salary, race, gender and other factors.

The True North Global Registry (TNGR) is another beneficiary of the most dapper riders in the world. TNGR brings together men, doctors, and researchers globally to understand why gaps in prostate cancer care and outcomes exist, and what can be done about them. By tracking diagnosis trends, treatment impacts, and survival rates across the globe, TNGR is building the evidence needed to improve care for all men, everywhere.

Mental health training for young men also gets a boost every time DGR revs up. Across Australia, Canada, Ireland, the UK, and New Zealand riders’ support helps roll out Movember Ahead of the Game. The program uses sport to teach young athletes as well as their parents and coaches about how to get through the bumps in the road they might face.

Built by miles. Proven over years.

Impossible without you. The lifechanging impact DGR and Movember make only happens with your support. And while it’s undeniable we’ve achieved a lot together, the next breakthrough could be just around the corner. So keep on riding – it’s how we all keep men’s health moving forward.
