Movember
2 minutes read time

The Movember Banking Challenge is a sector-wide competition that brings banks, credit unions, and financial institutions together for 30 days of fundraising, connection, and friendly but impactful rivalry. In 2025, the banking sector showed up in a big way, delivering a powerful campaign in support of men’s health.

By the Numbers:

Across the sector, 952 fundraisers representing 125 teams took part in the challenge, raising a total of $1,068,543 for men’s health. These funds will support Movember’s work in mental health and suicide prevention, as well as prostate and testicular cancer research and support programs, helping men live happier, healthier, longer lives.

How the Sector Showed Up:

Participants supported Movember in many ways throughout the month. From growing epic moustaches to spark conversations, to committing to moving more through walking, running, and fitness challenges, teams showed up. Others hosted Mo-in-Your-Own-Way events that reflected their workplace cultures, bringing colleagues together through creative fundraisers and shared experiences like stair climbs, wing eating tournaments, polar bear dips etc. Just as importantly, many used Movember as a catalyst for open and honest conversations about mental health and wellbeing, helping to break down stigmas.

Why the Banking Challenge Matters

The Banking Challenge is a powerful example of what Movember is all about. It shows how workplaces can become communities of change, where people are empowered to support men’s health in ways that are authentic to them. Whether through fundraising, movement, events, or conversations, every action contributes to a larger movement focused on improving the lives of men and their families.
