The Movember Oil Rig Rumble once again united companies from across Canada’s oil, gas, and energy sector for a month of digging into men’s health, community building, and a little hairy competition. In 2025, more than 80 companies and 1,200 individuals raised over $1.2 million to support groundbreaking men’s health research and programs in mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer. Beyond the epic fundraising and awareness from participating companies, the Oil Rig Rumble featured a mental health focused event in partnership with the Canadian Association of Energy Contractors, a dodgeball tournament for participating companies, and culminated with top teams earning the chance to scrimmage at the home of the Edmonton Oilers, Rogers Place.

Once the final numbers were counted, SECURE claimed the iconic Oil Rig Rumble trophy for the fourth year in a row, raising more than $200,000. Adding to the team’s success, SECURE’s René Amirault was the top individual fundraiser with $41,000 raised. While SECURE ultimately took the trophy, the Oil Rig Rumble leaderboard remained fiercely competitive all month long, with many companies celebrating record-setting years. Below are the top 5 companies and you can check out the complete final standings here.

SECURE - $205,000

Pembina Pipeline Corporation- $91,000

Imperial Oil - $77,000

Co-op Refinery Complex - $72,000

Precision Drilling - $60,000

Why men's health matters to the industry

With over 75% of the industry being male, the connection to Movember is a “no brainer” for many participating companies. While the funds raised will have a huge impact, the men’s health education and purposeful conservations had during the hairy month will contribute to men in the industry living healthier, happier, and longer lives.

Working at the Kearl Oil Sands in northern Alberta, Imperial Oil’s Kathy Wakaluk-Yanco has seen how men in her workforce have struggled with their mental health in silence and the need for more resources.

“I believe every man deserves a safe space to be vulnerable. By making Movember and men’s health a talking point on site we’ve created a culture of caring and a sense of belonging and trust. It’s not only helping the men, but also their family and the communities that they live in.”

The strides made, funds raised, and lives changed would not be possible without the incredible support from the oil, gas and energy sector. Every company and individual contributed to an impactful and successful campaign and should be proud of what they achieved.
