This year, Movember launched The Movember Institute of Men's Health, a groundbreaking initiative that saves lives and advances men’s health. The Institute will bring together leading experts to accelerate research, deepen our understanding of men's health issues, and develop real-world improvements in men's health. FIND OUT MORE
We all have partners, fathers, brothers, sons, and buddies that we love. When these men are well, the benefits ripple through relationships, families, and communities. But when these men are unwell and unsupported, we all feel it. Our recent campaign – The Real Face of Men’s Health – reminds us of the many reasons to care about men’s health. FIND OUT MORE
This year, we pledged a whopping AUD $59.5m to Indigenous Social and Emotional Wellbeing Initiatives across Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the USA. The programs aim to combat the alarming health inequalities faced by Indigenous men around the world, through holistic community-driven approaches. FIND OUT MORE
Your dollars support this life-saving mental health program for first responders. Our grant program seeks to identify promising mental health or suicide prevention programs for this at-risk group of first responders. First Responder Resiliency Program (FRRP), developed by Canadian wellbeing organization Blueprint is one of the first projects to be supported. FIND OUT MORE
All prostate cancer treatments have sexual side effects, impacting quality of life, relationships and mental health. Together with the International Society for Sexual Medicine (ISSM), we're tackling these problems head-on, with resources, training, and toolkits designed to improve the standard of sexual health care for men with prostate cancer. Lu-PSMA is a groundbreaking treatment for men with advanced prostate cancer, which is extending lives and improving quality of life. Even better, a new Movember-funded study found this targeted therapy could also dramatically improve outcomes for patients in earlier stages of the disease, potentially playing a role in reducing the global burden of prostate cancer in the future. Movember has funded WiseGuyz, an evidence-informed, gender-transformative program designed to create safer spaces for young men framed around life skills for health and wellbeing. The program offers an opportunity for them to explore how masculinity relates to their identity, their values, their mental, sexual, and relationship health, as well as their communication and media literacy skills. We have supported groundbreaking research on how AI can accelerate personalized treatments for men with prostate cancer. This state-of-the art technology aims to assist men, families, and doctors, in having more informed conversations about treatment choices – opening up options that may match to the specific biology of their cancer. Movember is funding a parenting program called Dad HERO (Helping Everyone Realize Opportunities) in Canadian prisons that helps dads stay connected to their children and support their mental health. It also improves the children’s chances of reintegrating into society and family lives after they leave prison. FIND OUT MORE
We’re proud to support the TIGER trial – a major international initiative involving research teams from the US, Europe and Australia. This trial seeks to better understand the biology and treatment options for men who have undergone chemotherapy for testicular cancer, but whose cancer has returned – a rare outcome of an already rare disease.
Last year, we celebrated a significant milestone: the recruitment of 420 men and boys from across the US, Europe and Australia. The trial is now in the “follow-up” phase, where we monitor how these guys fare with treatment over time. FIND OUT MORE
