Our Motivation

This year, Pierce and I have chosen to participate in Movember in honour of my son, his brother, Hunter, who recently died by suicide.
Through our involvement, we hope to encourage open and honest conversations about mental health and suicide, even when those conversations are difficult. As a family, we have chosen to openly share how Hunter died in the hope of helping reduce the stigma that still surrounds suicide. If sharing our story encourages even one person to reach out for help, check in on a loved one, or start an important conversation, it will make a difference. We invite you to join our team and support this important cause. Everyone is welcome.

I’ve always believed that men’s mental health needs to be talked about more openly. Too many men suffer in silence, believing they have to be strong all the time.
Real strength isn’t staying silent. It’s having the courage to speak up.
