Testicular cancer

In May 2020 I discovered a lump on my right testicle. I immediately informed my doctor and he sent me for an ultrasound. A week later I got a call from him telling me that he already referred me to a urologist based on the images he reviewed. 1 day later I was getting blood tests. The day after that the urologist told me that he suspects the lump to be cancerous and that he has already pre-booked the operating room for me in two days. They removed my right testicle and confirmed that I had a seminoma (testicular cancer). I am now on 5 years of surveillance to ensure the cancer does not come back. I was informed it is a 15 - 30% chance the cancer will come back in the lymph nodes or the other testicle as well.

I am an extremely healthy person and was shocked that I had cancer. I learned that testicular cancer is common in men ages 18 - 35. I have a young family and felt invincible until this happened. My goal is to raise awareness - I want all men to be thinking about their health and to check themselves often and get checked often. If I hadn't caught this so early my treatment options would have been much different - but aside from only having one 'member' now I was virtually un-phased by my diagnosis and treatment (physically) - I felt lucky. I also want to raise money for this charity in everything they do to support men's health.
