Suicide can be prevented - that’s why I participate in Movember.

Two years ago, a student of mine passed away from suicide; the news completely floored me. He was a bright and funny guy who didn’t seem to be struggling any more that your average 1st year engineering student. Trying to navigate and rationalize the news alongside a class of his peers was just about the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, and it opened my eyes to the importance of spreading awareness.

Us men have a hard time talking about our mental health, unfortunately, we also account for over 75% of suicides in Canada. I’m hoping that Movember’s suicide prevention initiatives will help bring these numbers down.
