Mental health and suicide prevention

To improve the awareness of suicide amongst men.

Hard to believe it has been over 10 years since I lost my brother-in-law, one of my best friends, to suicide. Ten years ago, very few people understood the risks of suicide to men. Now, my friends and I talk more openly about mental health and we reach out more. This Movember movement is working!

But still, more men die from suicide than traffic accidents and too many men still suffer silently too often. If you haven’t heard from a friend in a while, reach out just to say, “Hi, how are you feeling”. Most times people are just busy but everyone once in a while you will encounter someone who needs to talk but can’t start the conversation. Little things really make a difference.

Also, support a Mo’Bro. The message is getting out there!
