Thank-you for your commitment and support.

We've now arrived at Movember 30 and everyone in this challenge should pause for a moment to reflect on an amazing job done, what can only be described as an epic 'stache and an impressive commitment to help change the face of men's health.

As Mo season is coming to a close, I want to flag that the leaderboards will officially close on Thursday, December 7th at 5 pm EST, marking the moment we crown our 2023 Movember champions of each challenge. While donations can still be received after this time, please note that they won't contribute to the leaderboard race.

Thanks for all you have done this year and will continue to do as we move forward.

Hey heyyyy I'm back! Back for another great Movember campaign. And wouldn't you know it this year is going to be monumental because I'm hoping to hit a nice round $10 000 in total donations since I started. Sweet! It's all thanks to you, my amazing supporters.
So please keep up your annual donations and keep supporting men's health. It means so much to me and makes a huge difference for a great number of men in Canada and around the world.

Thank you!

(2/2) Personally I struggle a lot with 1, 2, 4, and 8, because those all involve being kind to yourself and to be honest I'm generally not too good at it! A great point I've heard is if your friend was struggling with an issue that you yourself have, what advice would you give them? Because it can be much easier to give advice than to follow it, even if it's your own. I find that trick allows you to sort of step outside yourself, and maybe even help you realize you ARE actually smart and capable of dealing with that thing.
Anyway, this was day 29 growth!

Please read and share these tips on being more resilient. If you aren't a man, talk to one you know about it.
1. First, recognize that your struggle is valid, no matter what you’re struggling with.
2. Then realize the ways you’re already resilient.
3. Don’t wait for the situation to fix itself.
4. Know your strengths and use them.
5. Don’t try to do it alone…
6. …but know that it’s okay not to tell everyone.
7. Find your favorite way to take a mental break.
8. Be compassionate with yourself and realize all the ways adversity has made you strong.

(1/2) WE DID IT!
DAVE! DAVE DID IT!!
Wooo! The goal has been hit! Thank you so so incredibly much to Janice, Jaq, and most of all to Dave for finally getting to be the one who got me there. Thank you everyone for the continued support, it means so goddamn much. And it all adds up to contribute to some wonderful programs that help a lot of men and even save lives. Here's an example:
Movember has committed almost $2.5 million to supporting the mental health of Indigenous men, using their "Go to Where Men Are" strategy...

Il y a 230 semaines

"It's ok to not be ok."
In Canada, 1 person in 3 will experience a mental health problem in their lifetime. 1 in 5 will experience a mental health problem over the course of a year.
Please support mental health awareness and programs, because you never know when you'll need help yourself.

Your annual #Movember reminder to get your flu shot! This isn't necessarily men's health related, but of course men can get the flu so get on it fellas.
It's super important, not just to protect yourself but those around you. Children and seniors are at a higher risk, as well as folks who already have illnesses or are otherwise immuno-compromised.
You can get it from your doc or from most drug stores, for free! Do it! And then donate to support #menshealth!

"Drummer Sam Corbett from rock band the Sheepdogs was diagnosed with testicular cancer just months before his pregnant wife was due to have their first born child. He wants other men to know that: “Health comes first. It’s just very important to make sure that’s a top priority.”"

(2/2) The second project collected global data related to advanced prostate cancer, furthering our understanding of treatment options and supporting scientific research. Germany even led the establishment of a Biobank server to store histopathological and clinical data. The centralized biobank provides rapid search and information activity for prostate cancer researchers abroad.

Collaboration and sharing, important themes.

Thank you again Shauna, and to everyone else - please keep donating! If you can't spare it, please share my posts, my Movember page (mobro.co/craigish), or just general health tips for the men in your life.

Another massive thank you going to Shauna! It was incredibly touching receiving her donation, and after the completely unexpected surprise I couldn't stop smiling the rest of the day. I believe she's also my first international donor! An elite club...who wants to join??
Movember also operates internationally, besides raising funds in individual countries. In 2015, two projects for prostate cancer were started, involving over 14 countries. One looked at comparing and reducing variation in how prostate cancer is treated, not only improving outcomes for those with prostate cancer but also the wellbeing of them and their loved ones.

Thank you so much Marie! Your generous donation will support programs like Young Hunters. Run out of Nunavut, it was created in 2012 by community leaders, elders and a network of individuals with expertise in indigenous health and mental wellness. It "takes at-risk youth out on the land with an experienced hunter who teaches traditional Inuit skills and knowledge to live off the land. The participants learn resilience and self-dependence and through this experience strengthen the ties to their cultural heritage and community."

Men! Next time you're in the shower, check yourself! Warm water makes it easier, and you just have to follow these simple directions. You can make it a regular thing, I believe in you.
If you're wondering why, it's because testicular cancer is still the most common cancer in young Canadian men, and can be devastating or even fatal to 1 in 20.
By donating to Movember (or just spreading the word), you'll be helping to halve the number of men dying, and halve the number of men facing serious ongoing side effects from treatment. What a great way to spend a few extra bucks, or spend the energy it takes to click Share!

Movember is committed to reducing the rate of male suicide by 25% by the year 2030. Why does this matter? Because globally, on average, 1 man dies by suicide every minute of every day.

To meet that commitment, Movember is working towards a world where men feel empowered to take action to be mentally well, and are supported by those around them.

Support the men in your life by asking them how they’re doing, and encouraging open conversations about feelings and mental health. Support Movember by donating to my campaign, for which I will love you forever.

Sunny day means a run! Helps me bank a few km towards the Move challenge. Besides just moving my body more, I like using Movember as a reminder to check in on my health. Here are some of my intentions this year:

Get a donation from someone new
Re-engage with my mental health
Make therapist & dentist appointments
Check testicles for lumps
Check in on friends' mental health
Practice vulnerability & gratitude
Floss/stretch daily
Cut out alcohol/caffeine/refined sugar

Fun! It might seem like a lot but I know it's most important that I try, not that I hit them all. I promise you if you make some yourself, it'll be rewarding.

“Mental health in Indigenous people where I’m from is a big issue. I’ve had close mates who have passed away. Last year a good mate of mine, loves footy, just around the boys all the time – when we got the news we just couldn’t believe he had done that. But also, you start reflecting - what did I do? how did I support him? Why wasn’t I there for him? You start asking questions, you’ll never get the answers.

You’ve got to be able to have the tools, know the signs, and reach out. In Indigenous communities we all have a role to play in each other’s lives. It might just be a phone call or a text.”

"Take a look at some of the programs around the world that are helping men and boys take action to be mentally healthy, supported by their friends, family and community during tough times."

Another thank you going out to my amazing friend Jasmine! Her donation will support projects like The Caring Campus, which aimed to reduce substance misuse and improve the mental health of male university students. It did this by creating “a type of gender-specific social movement to counter existing male cultural factors that sustain patterns of unhealthy substance use patterns and related mental health issues.”
Thank you for your donation Jasmine! It means I’ve now passed the 75% mark with just a few days left. People - join the rest of the cool donors and help me reach $1000 once again to support men's health!
