My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Mental health and suicide prevention

This year, I’m continuing my story...The last several years have challenged me in ways I never expected. Loss, stress, and the slow weight of life’s changes can pull at your motivation and drain your sense of balance. I’ve learned—sometimes the hard way—that mental strain doesn’t stay in one place. It spills into your body, your energy, your confidence, and your direction.

I joined the Movember movement to break the silence around mental health. To remind myself, and anyone who needs to hear it, that none of us are built to handle everything alone. Every year, suicide takes too many people—mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, friends. It doesn’t discriminate. And we can’t afford to stay quiet.

What keeps me grounded is my circle of family and friends who remind me I’m not alone. What keeps me moving is the lesson I learned years ago from a college professor: if you don’t shut off work, it will take advantage of you—mentally and physically. For me, “shutting off” has always meant working out, refocusing, and finding moments that bring me back to myself.

But this year, I’m taking an additional step. This month, November 1st - I made an appointment with Gameday Men’s Health - Etobicoke to take control of my well-being and understand what’s really going on with my body. It's not weakness to ask for help or to check in with professionals—it’s strength. It’s responsibility. And if sharing this helps even one person decide to take care of themselves, then it’s worth it.

Your “happy place” might look different than mine. Maybe it’s the gym, maybe it’s coffee with a friend, maybe it’s volunteering in your community, or maybe it’s just taking a quiet moment to breathe. Whatever it is—don’t lose it. If you have to shift gears or pump the brakes, do it. Refocus. Recenter. Get back on your life train when you’re ready.

Get out and live. Listen to others like your colleagues. Check in with your friends. A simple conversation can change someone’s day—or their life. Being present matters more than you know.

Thank you for reading my message, and thank you for supporting MOvember. There’s so much we can do together. Viva MOvember!

We’re proud to announce the final results of the 2024 Canadian Construction Challenge — and wow, what an incredible campaign it was!

This year, you contributed to a record-setting $967,652 raised, showing just how powerful this industry can be when it comes together for men’s health. There were 1479 participants from 241 teams that rallied for men’s health.

Now, to anoint a champion. With a remarkable $112,174 raised, Ledcor has pulled off the three-peat as our 2024 Canadian Construction Challenge champions. Craig Lesurf comes in as the top individual fundraiser with over $45K raised. Congrats Ledcor and Craig!

While Ledcor was our winner, we had our most competitive leaderboard ever this year. PCL was able to take home the silver and Gillam Group walked away with the bronze with Jermyn Lumber and Onni Group rounding out the top 5.

A huge round of applause to everyone involved this year, you should each take pride in the success of the challenge. Thank you for helping us build a future for men's health!
