My brother was diagnosed with schizoaffective bipolar disorder a few years ago. It was a very confusing and scary time for my family. I'm grateful we were able to get him off the streets and get him the help he needed. But, it required a lot of work from my family to get him help and even when he got the professional help he needed, it was clear our mental health institutes were lacking. It was also clear to me there is little public awareness and people would see his manic episodes as an excuse to ridicule him or leave cruel comments under his posts as if he and our family weren't in enough pain as it was.

It crushed my heart to read the account Mo sent about him and his brother. My heart goes out to Mo and family as well as the individuals and families struggling or who have struggled with mental illnesses.
