Turn that warm fuzzy Mo into some cold hard dough. It’s not just about growing a moustache for 30 days, Movember is also about getting your friends, family, and colleagues to donate to your efforts. Never fundraised before? Here are some easy tips to get you started.
Show your commitment
You’d think that growing a new Mo would show your commitment to changing the face of men’s health. Well, you are half right. To effectively make change, you’ve got to donate pocket change to fund world-class research and programs for prostate and testicular cancer. Start with a donation to yourself so others see how important the cause is to you. On a tight budget? No worries, there isn’t a minimum – try forgoing your daily coffee and donate the $2.50 to yourself instead. Others will be inspired to do the same.
It’s not the size that matters
We all know that a thick, full Mo can attract as much attention as a thin, straggly one, and the same can be said about donation amounts. It doesn’t matter how large or small – we know the size doesn’t matter at Movember. Ask 25 friends for $4 and voila – $100 and you’ve qualified for prizes!
Creeping on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram? Send a ton of emails? These are great ways to ask for donations while showing your daily Mo growth. Your email signature is the perfect place to add a link to your Mo Space or a call out for donations.
Who wouldn’t pay $5 to have your mug plastered on their office wall? From your Mo Space, create a personalized Movember posters and individual donation cards to help raise funds. Blanket your office cube, kitchen, or conference room with your posters, only taking them down when people pay up.
